20 x 20 cm

Oil and acrylic on stretched canvas.

This small painting reduces the wall to its structure, blocks of colour held in place by thick, white mortar lines. Deep green, slate blue, rust red, and brown sit alongside a sharp yellow green that cuts through the centre and base. The surface is deliberately direct. Paint is laid down in solid rectangles, with visible brush drag and slight shifts in tone that keep each brick individual.

The work uses the wall as a quiet portrait of collective strength. Each brick carries its own weight, none of them special on their own, but essential in the whole. The irregular edges and imperfect joins point to the human side of the metaphor, that stability is built through variation, effort, and repetition rather than perfection.
